Big Scrub Nature Play’s mission is to inspire children and families to spend more time outdoors - to slow down, have fun, be curious, creative, and sometimes, to simply just be. Run by qualified Forest School Teacher Lidia, her Growing with Nature program blends play, mindfulness and restorative storytelling to nurture a deeper connection with Mother Earth, with our community and with ourselves.
Big Scrub offers weekly nature play sessions at the beautiful Noosa Botanic Gardens, as well as community events open to all ages such as our their Winter solstice gathering and regular beach clean ups which they have collaborated with Plastic Free Noosa on. Their experiential program is also delivered to local primary schools and early childhood centres in the form of incursions or excursions.
Following the rhythm of the Australian seasons, Lidia has released 'Growing with Nature', a book which is the perfect gift for mindful families offering a year-long journey of nature exploration and connection. With engaging and creative activities, inspiring stories, nourishing recipes, herbal remedies, rituals and mindfulness prompts to mark special events, this book offers so many ways to invite the wonders and wisdom of nature into our homes and playtime.
