Replace single-use plastic bottles

While reusables were and always will be our number one focus and recommendation, our program experience has shown that eliminating plastic water bottles completely has been particularly difficult for some of our member businesses.

These reasons generally include:

• Reluctant to remove a known and consistent source of income
• It’s a low-cost item that sells well, particularly in the summer months
• They want to provide a ‘healthy’ alternative to soft drink
• Fear of loss of business to neighbouring stores that do stock this option

With our mission in sight, we have been tirelessly working with suppliers and manufacturers to source an affordable alternative for members, that maintains similar profit margins to that of plastic bottles, without costing the earth.

Introducing the NOOSA collection of infinitely recyclable aluminium bottles of Cooroy Mountain Spring Water

In what is an Australian first, Tourism Noosa in partnership with Bluesky Beverages have designed a NOOSA collection of aluminium water bottles. These aluminium bottles of water are not only a smarter choice for the environment but each carton of still water comes as a collection of four bottles that are a stunning representation of the region (both in and out of the fridge). There is even a sparkling option for restaurants.

These bottles are already significantly reducing the number of single-use plastic water bottles that are sold within our region each year.
